ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
My whole goal was really to just create something I thought looked cool. I wanted the piece to seem as if it was a real collage in a scrapbook but there are layers to the perspective. For example, teens in a car looking out over the city, reminiscent of 80’s films, framed by a T.V. of someone watching them and then the picture which is pasted in the scrapbook that the viewer can see. I think we tend to romanticize old movies and being teenagers and rebellious so I wanted to show that.
