MEDIUM: Digital Illustration
DESCRIPTION:
My submission is a collection of digital garments created in the pattern making software Clo3D. The garments are virtually rendered as you draft and sew their pattern pieces and position them on the avatar.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
This collection of digital garments was created out of my interest in science fiction. Science fiction movies, in particular, are something that inspired me. The themes present in movies like Blade Runner, The Matrix, and Ghost in the Shell were central to the ethos of my designs. These themes include shifting power structures, the communication and monetization of data and information, connection, reflection, memory, perception, anonymity, ego, human nature, and of course technology.
