DesignLab is a digital media design consultancy service for students at UW-Madison, located in College Library. Through one-on-one or small group consultations, we help students work effectively in digital media. We focus on the conceptual, asethetic, and overall design of projects for class assignments, student organizations, independent projects, and personal professional development. Our sessions are 30 minutes. Make an appointment, drop in, or contact us.
Bringing your Project to Life
Our consultants help students design media such as video essays, infographics, scientific posters, and presentations. We help you work with images, text, sound, and data to present ideas in different forms and reach diverse audiences.
We help you explore the conceptual and aesthetic side, from visualizing data to creating multimedia presentations. DesignLab services integrate with the Writing Center, Software Training for Students, and the Libraries, so we can assist from research to final presentation.
Presenting Student Projects
Each spring, DesignLab and UW Libraries sponsor the Digital Salon exhibition of student digital media projects. Students from across campus are encouraged to submit projects from classes and extra-curricular activities.
DesignLab consultants help you create successful media projects. We'll work with you to understand the use of information, media, and digital tools needed to thrive in the contemporary world.
