DESCRIPTION:
This music video, inspired by and featuring the song “Your Power” by Billie Eilish, showcases the story of a teenage girl and her experience handling the effects of sexual abuse as an adolescent. This heart wrenching story depicts how this unfortunately common experience can deeply effect the lives of many young woman around us.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
As a communication arts major, Paige Holke have always been obsessed with how the interlap of audio and film can produce a story. When dealing with important topics such as sexual violence in youth populations, depicting stories with these elements not only inform the audience, but create an emotional reaction that can inspire change. Filmed, produced, and edited herself, this video acts as a call to action, and depicts Paige’s mission to shed light on a commonly obscured topic.
