MEDIUM: Map, Poster
DESCRIPTION:
This is the map product of a client project of the University of Wisconsin Cartography Lab with Shawano County Friends of Mountain Bay Trail during summer and early fall 2024. The map illustrates the historical railroads in Menominee County and Shawano County of Wisconsin, with the depots, as well as the Mountain Bay State Trail and Wiouwash State Trail.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
The map is printed on a tempered glass surface on the wall of the Mountain Bay Trailhead Center in the old Chicago & Northwestern Railroad Depot in Shawano. Though it is a color map, it is designed as color-independent, ensuring that readers with color vision deficiencies can effectively interpret it.
