DESCRIPTION:
All Seeing Eyes is an old-fashioned, unique family portrait in which the heads of the family members have been replaced with surveillance cameras with a red-purple color pallet.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
I was given the prompt of self-surveillance for this piece. I wanted to differentiate my work from the literal idea of surveying my own daily actions. The image is not a surveillance of myself, rather it can be viewed as a surveillance of whoever views the piece. No matter where you are, a camera is poised to look back at you. Unsettling and eerie, we are all just cameras surveying our surroundings.
