DESCRIPTION:
“Through the Fire” is a photograph series that focuses on the determination of a candle’s light in the midst of darkness. The flicker of the candlelight is shown in three different photographs and represents the wrench and weave of moving through hardship. The colors are bold and vivid, such as yellow for hope, bright red for courage, and blue for introspection, while blacks are also incorporated as a backdrop for light and darkness.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
The four photos are meant to be grouped together and tell one story of struggle and triumph. The series represents thoughtful and skilled photography and craftsmanship, emphasizing the search for meaning and significance. Through the Fire is designed to spark motivation and inspiration, and help people find the strength they need in their struggles and recognize the beauty of sticking with it.
