Within our patient advocacy curriculum, we are introduced to the idea of Significant Learning (Fink, 2003), and as such, are provided various opportunities for reflection. One such opportunity is our Significant Learning Experience Video project. Essentially, we are invited to video-record a significant (or powerful) learning experience we have had since beginning to advocate for patients at the Center. We create our videos and they are compiled into one Significant Learning video for the semester. We then come together to view, discuss and celebrate ourselves as a community of learners and moments of learning that have been particularly powerful in our lives.
