ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
I have been a fan of Beyoncé’s music since I was a child, and her music holds an exceptional place in my life. It felt like a no-brainer to do my project on my favorite album by her. Everything that occurred before Lemonade was released and everything that followed is what I think makes it so special. I have always admired the way she used her platform to showcase black women in a positive light and highlight the struggles the black family has gone through.
