Trends in fashion do not appear out of the clear blue sky. They are situated in a specific historical and cultural context. A great example of fashion’s intentionality is the dress’s transformation through time. Influenced by necessity, revolutions, power, and gender roles, the dress has gone through nothing less than an evolution.
