In our visualization, we chose to represent the changes from the classic encyclopedia of Encyclopedia Britannica to our current user-operated system of Wikipedia. We chose to use the data of how many articles were available over the years in the classic print version of the encyclopedia, the online software that Encyclopedia Britannica came out with in 2002, and Wikipedia today to demonstrate how the “new ethos” and “new technical” ideas shape the availability of knowledge.
