ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
I am a First Wave scholar at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My work is heavily inspired by my background as an African American female from the urban core of Baltimore, Maryland. I have been working within film and animation for the past two years. The piece I am submitting is inspired by trepidation about my journey to the Midwest.
