ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
Aiden Grudich is a local Madison Artist who has been creating works of art since 2018. Taking inspiration from artists such as Van Gogh and Keith Haring, he has developed a unique and shifting style. Through his works, he hopes to explore the dichotomy between chaos and order and show the beauty inherent in both. Aiden began his art journey in middle school, initially working with fine-line markers he has since branched out to a variety of mediums. By exploring mediums, he encourages his style to expand and change. Over time, this style has become more refined and distinct, shifting from erratic lines to more intentional and deliberate marks. The use of this abstract style allows him to explore many different ways to represent reality. Whether it be presenting a way a song sounds or how a year felt, this style loosens any restraints that other styles might create for him. The process for creating works is quite varied between pieces. For most works, the final product is made shortly after 1 or 2 sketches. In others, the idea develops slowly over months. He often finds his best ideas through collaboration, either through online forums or with his friends. If asked to explain his process in a sentence, he would say, “That much of creation is a conversation between the piece and me, allowing it to grow without any specific intent.”
