COURSE: English 173 – Introduction to Ethnic and Multicultural Literature
This is a video dedicated to my grandpa whom I visited back in February and stayed with until the end of May. I made this video with the intention of depicting the lesser-spoken side of what it really means to have immigrated to a foreign land as a child.
To be raised with the American Dream is to be presented with the Immigrant Daydream—an everyday craving to return to the Motherland and reconnect with Her spirit through family, nature, and the familiar. 16 years of living in an Adoptive Land has made Nature the ultimate source of metaphors for the lifestyle I pertain to as an immigrant.
