MEDIUM: Digital Photography
This piece is an homage to Norman Rockwell. To create his images, Rockwell often photographed people on film, then projected and traced from those slides. He accentuated their gestures and expressions, then painted over his drawings. For this image I photographed my subject using a DSLR, then warped the figure using Adobe Photoshop. I corrected my photo’s lens distortion to mimic the large-format film Rockwell used, and digitally recolored the image with flat tones to mimic his painted aesthetic.
