COURSE: Art 564: Graphic Design for Accessibility
MEDIUM: Map, Signage
DESCRIPTION:
With this work, a prototype map was created for the Bakke Recreation and Wellbeing Center on campus, with the goal of aiding first-time visitors with locating different parts of the facility. A focus was put on researching tactility to provide viewers with another avenue of comprehension. Through diagramming, illustration, 3D printing, and user testing, a product was made that highlights the ability of physical maps on campus to be informational in multiple sensory realms while accommodating vision to the highest degree.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT:
This project was approached with pure design sensibilities. My personal views or feelings weren’t a factor in this project.
